Year Six visit to Newton by the Sea

Year Six had a great time at the beautiful Northumberland coast on Monday. It was a misty day, but very warm indeed. The children loved playing on the beach, jumping from the sand dunes, splashing in the water and burying one another in the sand. This was followed by an energising walk past the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle to Craster. The behaviour of the class was excellent!

Visit to the National Glass Centre

On Tuesday 23rd June, Year 4 visited the National Glass Centre at Sunderland. We spent an exciting morning creating glass mosaics, looking at the Space-Time exhibition and watching a demonstration of glass blowing.

Some of us were scared standing on the glass roof!

Chinese artefacts

To mark the end of a week spent learning about China and aspects of Chinese culture, we had a visitor from the Oriental Museum in Durham. She brought with her a collection of Chinese artefacts from the Museum's collection for the children to examine.

We have achieved the Anti-Bullying Award.

Thank you to everybody who has supported the school in order to achieve the Anti-Bullying Award. Don Sweeny and Liz Elliott, from the LEA, came out to school to talk to pupils, govenors and staff and were really impressed with what they saw.
Today we took three children to the ceremony where we were proud to receive our award. DSCF2723.JPG

Y4 Class Assembly

On 12th June Year 4 performed their class assembly - one of the most looked forward to events in the school year! Through dance, song and drama, they took the audience back in time to World War 2. Mrs Latham would like to congratulate Year 4 for working so well together to make the event such a spectacle.
