On 29th April Year 4 visited the Mosque at Newcastle University. We learnt many interesting things about Muslims and how they pray. We watched people praying and we were shown around the Prayer Hall with its patterned carpet designed to help people pray in neat rows and the Mihrab arch which shows the direction of Mecca.
We were allowed to try on the special headwear worn by Muslim women and men.
On the wall of the Prayer hall are clocks showing the times of prayers.
The Qu'ran is the holy book of Islam. Muslims treat it with great respect. They usually place it on a special stool to read it.

I really enjoyed the trip and we learned a lot of new things at the mosque.I loved the refreashments.
We leart that they could read the whole qu,ran it has 500 hundred pages.

we realy enjoied going to the mosque and wathing people pray amber tried a head dress on and she realy enjoied it we learnt that muslims were not allowed to drink alchohol or eat pork or ham.we had to put our shoes on a special rack when you went in.the boys had to where a purple little hat on their heads.

The trip to the Mosque was really good it was intresting to see how the Muslims pray it was really different to how we pray !!!!!!!

We thought the trip to the mosque was excellent .We found out lots of
information about the mosque and how muslims pray .Foundout a lot
about Quaran .We got to here them pray throught the microphone bye .
