On Tuesday 24th February three members of the Northern Sinfonia visited our school. The Northern Sinfonia is regarded as one of Europe's finest chamber orchestras and is based at the Sage.

The children in Key Stage 2 were treated to masterful performances by the flautist, Juliette Bausor, and the clarinettist, Chris Richards.

The principal timpani player in the orchestra, Alan Fearon, accompanied Juliette and Chris on the piano. He also introduced the different sizes of flutes and clarinets while Juliette and Chris demonstrated the sounds they made. The high notes on the piccolo were very shrill!

I thought it was incredible how Juliette performed the pieces she played from memory!
