Y5 take part in ‘Bikeability’ training

Last Thursday, Y5 children started their on-road cycle training, ’Bikeability’. Designed to give young road users the skills and confidence needed to ride their bikes on today’s roads, the training takes place during school hours over a period of six weeks.

Bikeability

It was a cold, damp and dismal first session. However, the children didn’t complain! All of this session was conducted on the school playground and it began with a safety check of the children’s cycles and helmets followed by an observation of the children’s cycle control skills.

U-turnA successful u-turn!

Next week don’t forget to bring warm and comfortable clothes to cycle in – a pair of gloves is essential!

I agree Sara! I have never known the weather to be so unhelpful for so many Thursdays in a row! At least there has been an extra session organised for after the half term holiday.
