Blaydon Bash Concert

On Tuesday 12th June our Y5 children are joining pupils from Newcastle and Gateshead schools at Newcastle City Hall to take part in a concert celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the National Anthem of Tyneside, ‘The Blaydon Races’. They will sing a selection of new and old local songs including ‘Bobby Shaftoe’, ‘The Cullercoats Fish Lass’, ‘The Lambton Worm’, ‘Dance to your Daddy’, ‘Blow the Wind Southerly’ and of course ‘The Blaydon Races’. It is fascinating what you can learn about life in the past from these songs!
