The boys with their fantastic nest

The boys with their fantastic nest

Year 6 have been enjoying the freedom from SATs with some dragon themed activities! We began with a forest schools challenge creating mystery nests for different beings (you probably guessed one of them was for a dragon!). We then went on to be lucky enough to actually see a dragon – some of us have some amazing, and very believable tales to tell!

The work we do on this mini topic will be displayed in the classroom, so we have had a dragon sketch competition – the best three will be the centrepiece of our display. All the children did a fantastic job of their sketches (it was harder than it looked – my dragon looked like a duck) but the overall winners were Abbie, Jessica and Amelia, who will be enjoying working out of class for a couple of sessions decorating their beautiful artwork – well done to all three of you.

  2. It was really fun making the nests (mine, Charlie’s, Ben’s and Aidan’s was the dragons one.) I also enjoyed drawing the dragons, I thought that Jessica, Amelia and Abbie deserved to win because they were great!

  4. I had so much fun painting these (out of all the ‘stages’ that was probably the most enjoyable.)!
Glittering them took forever cause we were honesty just messing about mostly – there was so much glitter we clogged the sink. xD
It was certainly better than doing science + whatever else we did! ^_^
