Year 6 Leavers

Year 6 Leavers

Just one last post for this year - felt we should tell you all about how proud we are of Year 6. In the last few weeks they have truly shown themselves to be an exceptional group of young people.

Their SATs results were fantastic. They will stand them in good stead for the future and are richly deserved after so much hard work – they tried so hard and really put everything they had into those tests.

The Year 6 confirmation was a very moving and joyful celebration. The children’s behaviour in church was impeccable and they made all the parents and teachers who attended feel very pleased and proud to be associated with them. The same was true on Sunday at the St Mary’s Leavers Service; all of the children were perfectly behaved and took part in the Eucharist in a very grown up manner.

The Year 6 leavers service at school was also memorable for the acting, singing and comic timing of the children, the audience loved it and I was very proud.

Today we have waved off a very grown up and glamorous bunch onto their party buses for the leavers party at the Blaydon Rugby Club. They all looked wonderful and so happy. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one with a lump in my throat!

There have been so many proud moments. As Mr Armstrong said, they will always be Parochial children. We wish them the very best of luck for the future and hope that they will visit us often.

Good bye and good luck Year 6

  1. I really enjoyed the party buses they looked amazing, me and Harrison stood up and pretended to surf! The party was amazing as well, we did our dance to labrinth express yourself and I got a huge bruise on my knee! But apart from that it was great!
