Our first half term in reception has been a very busy time with lots of new and exciting experiences.
It's been an egg-citing week in Reception...nine eggs hatched, resulting in some extremely cute chicks! The eggs came from Bill Quay Farm, and the chicks (a rare breed) will be with us until the beginning of next week. They've fascinated the children, and some of them have drawn some great pictures.
Reception Class made Carrot and Orange soup. We picked the carrots fresh from our school garden. Everyone tried some but not everyone liked it!
During the first half term, reception children will be learning to cope with the many new daily routines at school and develop their independence. They will begin to build new relationships with their classmates and will work as part of a group or class, taking turns and sharing fairly. Our main themes will be ‘All About Me’ and Autumn.
