A Summer Disco will be held in school on Thursday 17th July 2008. Infants from 4.30-5.45pm and Juniors from 6.00-7.15pm. Tickets will be on sale at £1.50 each (including refreshments) next week!

The End of Term Eucharist will be held in school at 9.10am on Thursday 17th July 2008. All are welcome to attend.
Sports Day will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday 9th July 2008, starting at 1.30pm.
Don't forget....Parochial Summer Fayre

Our Summer Fayre on Saturday 28 June is rapidly approaching. After last year's first ever Parochial Summer Fayre we are sure this year will be just as successful and that, fingers crossed, the weather will be kind to us. The Friends are in need on prizes for a variety of stalls including the tombola and have come up with the great idea of having a non-uniform day this Friday. Rather than bringig money in we are asking the children to bring in items that could be used as prizes e.g. sweets, chocolate or bottles. Thank you for your help with this matter.
The Friends of Whickham Parochial will be holding a sponsored walk for children around the school grounds on Wednesday 21 May, to raise money for new school equipment.
Key Stage 1 children will complete 3 laps of the grounds and Key Stage 2 will complete 5 laps.
The Friends will provide a snack and juice for each child.
The Newcastle Eagles coach Fab Flourney will be officially opening the outdoor adventure trail on Friday 9th May, when he visits school for a special assembly.
As you are no doubt aware the trip to France was a roaring success and seemed to be enjoyed by everyone. We would like to invite the parents of the children who went to France to an evening at school to see some of the photos that were taken while we were away, and to hear about the things we got up to. There may even be a bit of French wine on offer!
This will take place in the school hall on Wednesday 30th April at 6.30pm.

Tickets are still available priced at £2.00 per adult and children free of charge if accompanied by an adult.
Dinner Money
Please note that dinner money is now £1.75 per day / £8.75 per week. Please ensure that the correct amount of money is sent into school on a Monday morning - cash is preferable.
Big Yellow Friday (14th March)
£224 was raised for the Children's Liver Disease Foundation. Many thanks for supporting this very worthwhile cause.
Summer Uniform
All children should return to school after the two week break (Monday 7 April until Friday 18 April) in summer uniform - polo shirts /summer dresses. Regarding the summer dresses, there is a delay in delivery and as a result the dresses will not arrive until week commencing Monday 7 April - apologies for the delay!
KS1 children dressed up as their favourite story characters for world book day. Everyone looked fantastic! Can you spot Leigh dressed as 'sleepy' from the seven dwarfs?
This has been arranged by the 'Friends' and will take place on Thursday 13 March from 6.00-9.00pm. Various mini treatments are on offer, as well as a Virgin Vie, Avon and bespoke jewellery stalls.
We will be holding a charity day on Friday 14 March to raise money for the Children's Liver Disease Foundation. The children are invited to come to school dressed in yellow and make a donation of at least one pound for the charity.
This takes place on Tuesday 18 March at 9.10am in the school hall. Everyone is welcome to celebrate Easter with Father Barry and the children.
These meetings will take place on the nights of Monday 17 March and Tuesday 18 March. Appointment times will be confirmed week beginning Monday 10 March.
There will be a meeting about the trip to France (for parents of children in Years 5 and 6 going to France) at 6.30pm on Tuesday, 11th March.

Please note, due to circumstances beyond our control, the visit to the CLC for Year 6 has changed from Friday 25th January to Monday 21st January (pm).
The Friends of Whickham Parochial are able to offer tickets to the following game:
Newcastle Eagles v Worcester Wolves at the Newcastle Arena on Friday 8th February 2008.
Tickets are £6 per head, and in return the school will receive £2 per ticket. If we manage to sell 150 tickets, Fabulous Flourney will visit our school!
The match will be a fantastic night out in a wonderful family atmosphere.
Years 5 and 6 had a brilliant time at Krazy Kingdom and used lots of their energy exploring the climbing equipment, speeding down the slides, bouncing on the trampolines and playing in the games area. They also enjoyed some healthy party food and delicious cakes.
The infant children have been working very hard practising for the production of 'Whoops-a-daisy angel! We have a modern theme to this years music- see if you can recognise the music when you watch.........
The times for the performances have changed too- Thursday has changed from 1.30pm to 2.00pm (due to getting the hall cleared after lunch and the equipment getting set up)Fridays performance has also changed from 9.15am to 9.30am.

We would like to thank everyone for making our Christmas Fair such a HUGE success. With your help we raised a record breaking £2600!
Thank you to everyone who supported the fair by donating prizes, buying raffle tickets and attending on the day. Our next event is our Newcastle Eagles fundraising night at the Metro Radio Arena on Friday 8th February 2008. Tickets are £6 and available to purchase now.
Reception will be going to see a performance of 'Tattercoats' on Thursday 29th November.
Year Six have been invited to Whickham School to watch the pantomime 'Cinderella' on the afternoon of Friday 14th December.
This will take place in the school hall, starting at 9.10am, on Tuesday 18th December. All welcome.
The Christmas party for Year One and Two children will take place in the school hall on the afternoon of Monday 17th December.
The Christmas Party for Year Three and Four children will take place in the school hall on the afternoon of Tuesday 18th December.
The Christmas Party for Reception children will take place in the school hall on the afternoon of Wednesday 19th December.
Children in Years Five and Six will be visiting 'Krazy Kingdom' to celebrate Christmas on the morning of Monday 17th December, followed by a fun afternoon at school.

Key Stage Two children will be performing 'Stable Story, Christmas Glory' at St Mary's Church at 5.00pm on Thursday 20th December.
This will take place in the school hall for interested parents of children in Key Stage 2 on Tuesday 27th November at 7.00pm. We have invited Neil McCallion, a Maths consultant for Gateshead LEA, to lead the event.
