Remote Learning

This page has been set up as your guide to Remote Learning in the event of a bubble closure, school closure or lockdown. We all hope that we won’t need this – but better to be prepared!

Our digital platform for classes from Year 1 onward will be Microsoft Teams. Reception class will be using Evidence Me as this worked well during the Spring lock-down, but parents will still need access to Microsoft Teams as this is how live lessons will happen. To facilitate this, all children have been given an email address from Gateshead local authority – please let us know if you are having trouble logging in.

Remote Learning Plan

This document can be accessed below. It sets out our approach to curriculum delivery and implementation of remote education should the following scenarios occur:

  • A small number of pupils need to self-isolate
  • A class or year group need to isolate
  • Teachers need to isolate whilst pupils remain at school
  • A local lockdown requiring all pupils and staff to remain at home
The plan is updated regularly in the light of lessons learned in providing for small numbers of isolating pupils. The plan takes account of the information gathered in our parent survey regarding access to technology and digital devices at home.
Getting Started
We are sure that you are more than able to download Microsoft Teams either to your laptop or PC or download the app onto a tablet – but just in case you need a guide, we have made one here:
If you already have Microsoft Office 365 you will see the Teams icon near the bottom of your app options – just sign out and sign in again using your child’s email address (this will come out to you on a letter before Friday 18th September).
Help! I can’t find my child’s team!!
We have found that some children have two email accounts and you need to switch to the ‘guest’ version in order to find their team. If you see either image , click the link below it for help:
